The effect is no doubt helped by the color and relative thickness of my yarn, but don't you think the Icarus at this stage very closely resembles a rather saggy example of men's poofy breeches from the Elizabethan period??

LOL - my boyfriend has been saying that my shawl looks like giant granny panties . Luckily he's seen my do a shawl before, and knows that the transformation from blocking is magical.

totally agree. Poofy breeches, or a loaded diaper. Which makes blocking all the more miraculous, doesn't it?
