I made lots of progress this weekend - though the shawl looks very similar to the last pictures! I'm on the 4th repeat of chart one. I like the rhythm of chart one, though I'm surprised that I like the pattern rows so much better than the purl rows - I thought I'd find the pattern rows more stressful and enjoy the rest row more. I'm glad I've seen all the pre and post blocking pictures on the KAL because it looks kind of scrunchy and poopy - not very beautiful right now!

Hi everyone! I am so inspired by all the beautiful Icarus shawls - it's a gorgeous pattern. I started an Icarus on my recent vacation and so far I really like working on it. I've never worked with lace weight before and it's so delicate and ethereal.

I'm using Misti Alpaca in a blue-gray color and US4 needles. Here is my progress so far:

I'm in the second repeat of chart one. Starting to get bigger!

I'm new here! I just started this shawl and it is my first big lace project so it is slow going. I am just finished with the first run through of chart one. I am using Misti Alpaca on size 2 addi's. I am so impressed with everyone's beautiful shawls that I have to take a stab at making one of my own. Thanks for letting me join in on the fun.

I finally finished! I ended up taking out one of the repeats of Chart 1 just to be sure I didn't run out of yarn.

Finished pics are at my blog www.yarn4brains.wordpress.com

I'm on the 3rd repeat of the 1st graph now, but I took this picture early on (1st time through the graph.) The yarn is some handspun Moorit Shetland.

This is my first shawl from a chart ever.
Hey everybody,

I just switched over to the new Blogger, so that may cause some access issues for those of you on the old Blogger. I think you'll get a prompt to switch over, and once you do that, you should have posting access again.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

I've got a question about the pattern. I'm almost through the final full repeat of Chart 1 but I'm nervous I might not have enough yarn to finish the rest. I started off with 85g (900 yds) of yarn and now I have 47g left. I'm at the point where I can either stop now and call it the final half repeat of Chart 1 or continue on for another full repeat. Will Charts 2-4 take up more than half the yarn or will I be able to use all 85g to finish the pattern as written?
